The Story Behind “A Beautiful Struggle”: Our Rock-Solid Love Through Life’s Grind

Every artist draws from their life, and for my new song, “A Beautiful Struggle,” the inspiration comes directly from the strongest, most loving partnership I know: the one I share with my incredible husband, Steven.

You see, Steven and I have built such a wonderfully happy life together. We’ve been married for 22 years, and honestly, every day is a gift. We laugh, we support each other, and we cherish the quiet moments just as much as the big adventures. He is truly my best friend, my rock, and the person who makes even the mundane feel special.

But “happy life” doesn’t mean “easy life.” Like every couple, we face our share of challenges. Life throws curveballs—sometimes big ones—and keeping a roof over your head, navigating unexpected expenses, and dealing with the daily grind of careers can be tough. We might be in the same house, sharing the same bed, but often, we’re each facing our own unique battles out in the world, trying to make ends meet and build a secure future.

I wrote “A Beautiful Struggle” because I wanted to capture that raw, honest truth of what it means to be in a long-term, loving relationship.
